Director of Operations, Texas Prostate
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Sumbul Shaikh serves as Director of Operations at Texas Prostate, where she leads the day-to-day clinical and business functions of the practice with our staff. With nearly a decade of experience spanning biomedical research, healthcare operations, and workflow development, she is known for her precision, strategic mindset, and unwavering dedication to patient-centered care.
She brings a well-rounded, applied perspective to healthcare—drawing from direct experience in research, clinical operations, patient advocacy, support services, and revenue cycle management. Her ability to navigate both the scientific and operational sides of care allows her to connect strategy with execution, and innovation with the everyday needs of patients and providers alike.
Sumbul holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Data Analytics from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry with extensive training in Medical Laboratory Science, which enhanced her proficiency in laboratory operations and clinical study design. At UT Southwestern Medical Center, she spent nearly seven years managing preclinical and translational studies, including ABSL-2 protocols, IACUC submissions, and biohazard registrations—playing a central role in research. Her work spanned a range of cutting-edge areas including implant-associated infections, magnetic field-based therapies, targeted drug delivery with chemotherapeutic agents using nanoparticle, nanobubble, and sonoporation technologies. Portions of her early work contributed to the foundational science that informed ongoing innovations now being advanced by companies like Solenic Medical, currently in clinical trials.
Before co-founding Texas Prostate, Sumbul led operations at Perigon Imaging, where she implemented imaging workflows and supported the mobile MRI unit for prostate therapy. Her ability to combine operational efficiency with compassionate care positioned her as a driving force in the early development of Texas Prostate. In recognition of her loyalty, leadership, and enduring contributions, she was named a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the practice.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sumbul finds her greatest joy in raising her two daughters, who inspire her daily with their strength, curiosity, and warmth. They remain her guiding light and the heart behind her commitment to building systems of care that serve families with empathy, intelligence, and grace.
