I had the TULSA Procedure ago 5 weeks ago. I was initially skeptical of the procedure. My urologist advised it is a relatively new procedure and that there is limited data on it’s long-term success.

However, as I began to research the different options for prostate surgery I decided to look at minimally-invasive procedures that may be right for me.

I contacted Texas Prostate for additional information. I initially spoke with Sumbul Shaikh who directed me to Dr. Rajiv Chopra, who I was told invented the TULSA Procedure. Dr. Chopra told me high intensity ultrasound therapy has been used for several years to treat prostrate cancer, and that the procedure was approved by the FDA in 2019. I felt much better about TULSA Pro after speaking with Dr. Chopra, but as a told him I expected the inventor of the procedure to speak well of the procedure :)

A few days later I consulted with Dr. Cochran. We met for about an hour. Dr. Cochran reviewed in detail his recommendations regarding how I should proceed after reviewing my medical history. Dr. Cochran’s down-home, plain speaking manner convinced me to move forward with the procedure.

I felt really special the day of the procedure. I met Dr. Chopra that morning at 6:30 a.m. along with what seemed like 8-10 nurses and support staff in the office to assist Dr. Cochran.

Again, it’s been 5 weeks since my procedure and I haven’t experienced any problems. I’ve already recommended the procedure to a few friends with prostate disorders.

So, in closing I’d like to thank everyone at Texas Prostate for their care.

Sincerely,

William Lister
